WHAT PARENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT CAMP TUMO
My son Raffi participated in Camp Tumo for two weeks in July 2019. It enriched his experience in Armenia by exposing him to a world class tech environment, knowledgeable teachers and an amazing network of friends from all over the world.
My son Arin designed a website for fast food, a logo for a beer bottle and composed a musical piece. He made friends from many countries and enjoyed cultural, sport and recreational activities in the afternoon. The accommodation offered at Kantar was very clean, modern and satisfactory. The best benefit from this experience was that he came home speaking only in Armenian to me 😀
The classes were intellectually challenging and allowed me to gain new skills in music production, photography and video editing. The technology and access to resources were phenomenal and allowed me to have a more immersive and intensive experience with the subjects. It also allowed me to connect to other Armenian kids my age and showed me the incredible variation of Armenian communities that I didn’t get to experience in Sri Lanka or even in Armenia.
Camp TUMO was an incredible experience! It included a series of in-deth workshop in computer practices that triggered mental work, creativity and energy. Now, following those lessons, Maksim is fully in his computer world — learning and doing, doing and learning, and so on.
The camp was so much more than just fun and friends. The filmmaking process Lara learned at Camp TUMO has peaked her interest in films and production — something she may never have picked up had she not participated in Camp TUMO. The knowledge she now has about animation, graphic design, photography and music is on such a deep level. She understands the step-by-step process of creating a final product and appreciates the skill and approach required to create a masterpiece. Camp TUMO was a perfect combination of learning and fun, of instruction and discovery, of culture and exploration.
We loved Camp TUMO, the programs, the field trips and especially the coordinators. My kids — 10 years old and 12 years old — could not have had a better experience. We highly recommend Camp TUMO and we will be back!
"During our month long visit we enrolled Arpi for one week. Her only regret was that it was too short. The organizers thought of every detail from picking up every morning from our apartment and riding her back home. They would spend the morning filled with tech activities in Tumo center followed by interesting field trips every single day. From her own words “Tumo was the best camp that I had ever been to. Cannot wait to go back again”. I will urge all visiting families to try and enroll their kids at least one week. That way kids can get the feel of Armenia while surrounded with creative and caring locals. Thank you Tumo.
Camp Tumo is extraordinary place where my son had an opportunity to explore various creative activities, unleash his inner potential, learn about Armenia and make new friends.
During our 2016 two week summer vacation in Armenia, our two teenagers, ages 15 and 17, had the opportunity to enroll in a weeklong TUMO summer session. They were picked up by buses provided by TUMO every morning from in front of our hotel and returned in the evening, after dinner. Their days were filled with online individualized learning, group projects, and workshops in their areas of interest including animation, video game design, film, and illustration. They went on field trips and met peers from all over the world! On the last day of the program every student was able to share their creations by formally presenting in front of all the parents and students. It was an experience of a life time!

Help make this summer a memorable one for teens from the border villages of Armenia. Camp TUMO is a chance for young people from remote regions to experience the TUMO educational program.
TUMO covers the cost of transportation and accommodation — all you need to do is cover the fee. No donation is too small to make a difference in the life of a camper. All proceeds from Camp TUMO are directed to the education of young people in Armenia through projects implemented by the Simonian Educational Foundation.
